This neighbourhood is a sort of cross between the 3D von Neumann neighbourhood and the isomentric von Neumann neighbourhood. In this neighbourhood, each cubic cell is divided into six square-based pyramids, something like this:
The neighbourhood divides space into two alternating independent sub-lattices (which swap places on alternate time steps). Each sub-lattice forms a close packed, face-centre cubic structure.
